High School scholarships are awarded to both first time and existing high school students. The scholarship awards a maximum of $1,200.00 per year for four- years. The scholarship allows students the opportunity to attend the secondary school of their choice.

All High School applicants are required to submit an application online, along with the required documents:

  • A copy of your Social Security Card
  • High School acceptance letter
  • A copy of your parents` or guardians` statement of income:
    • 2018 TD4 (available at any Income Tax Department, country wide) or;
    • Employment letter from current employer or;
    • Declaration of income if self-employed
  • A letter of recommendation from your teacher and/or principal
  • Copies of your Standard 4, 5 and 6 report cards
  • A letter to the Social Security Board explaining “Why I deserve this Scholarship” (250 words)
  • For existing High School students only- A copy of your high school transcript

In 2005, the Board of Directors approved a proposal to offer Sixth Form scholarships to High School graduates. The proposal was a result of consistent requests from students for assistance to further their education at the Sixth Form level.

The Sixth Form scholarship is a partial scholarship valuing $4,000.00 for any two-year program. Each year the student, upon meeting the requirements to remain in the program, receive $2,000.00 to cover their tuition and fees. This scholarship allows the student to attend the institution of their choice.

All Sixth Form applicants are required to submit an application online, along with the required documents:

  • A copy of your Social Security Card
  • Sixth Form acceptance letter
  • A copy of your parents` or guardians` statement of income:
    • 2018 TD4 (available at any Income Tax Department, country wide) or;
    • Employment letter from current employer or;
    • Declaration of income if self-employed
  • Two letters of recommendation from your teacher, principal, employer and/or community leader
  • A copy of your high school transcript
  • A letter to the Social Security Board explaining “Why I deserve this Scholarship” (500 words)

In 2009, a new Vocational and Technical scholarship program was added. To date, over 20 scholarships have been awarded to young Belizeans countrywide. These scholarships are tenable for one (1) year only at a cost of $1200.00. The scholarship allows students the opportunity to attend the secondary school of their choice.

All Vocational Technical applicants are required to submit an application online, along with the required documents:

  • A copy of your Social Security Card
  • Vo-Tech acceptance letter
  • A copy of your parents` or guardians` statement of income:
    • 2018 TD4 (available at any Income Tax Department, country wide) or;
    • Employment letter from current employer or;
    • Declaration of income if self-employed
  • A letter of recommendation from your teacher and/or principal
  • Copies of your Standard 4, 5 and 6 report cards
  • A letter to the Social Security Board explaining “Why I deserve this Scholarship” (250 words)

In 2018, the Social Security Board will be offering 2 Bachelor`s scholarships. Applicants applying for the Bachelor`s scholarship must be enrolled in a STEAM program: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics. Each applicant must have completed Sixth Form prior to applying for the Bachelor`s Scholarship. This scholarship awards a total of $5000.00 per year for two (2) years.

All Bachelor`s applicants are required to submit an application online, along with the required documents:

Applicants applying for the Bachelor`s scholarship must be enrolled in a STEAM program.

  • University acceptance letter
  • A copy of your parents` or guardians` statement of income:
    • 2018 TD4 (available at any Income Tax Department, country wide) or;
    • Employment letter from current employer or;
    • Declaration of income if self-employed
  • Two letter of recommendation from your teacher, principal, employer and/or community leader
  • A copy of your Sixth Form transcript
  • A 5-paragraph persuasive essay explaining “Why I deserve this Scholarship” (700 words)
